About the event
Working attentively to beyond-human life forms, this workshop will resource you in grounding the sensory universes of your poems and freeing their playfulness. Together, we will explore conceptual and practical pathways towards expressing the non-verbal elements of our beings, and manifesting the reciprocity of their community with the world from which we all grow.
The poems of William Blake, Elizabeth Bishop, Matthew Rice, Rachel Long, Isabelle Baafi, Simon Maddrell, Tishani Doshi and Jennifer Lee Tsai will be glow worms threaded through the prompts and structured exercises leading us forwards.
About the facilitator:
alice hiller is a poet, writer and critic whose first collection, bird of winter, was shortlisted for the Forwards and John Pollard awards. Her workshops explore how we can use joy and play to hold and speak the parts of our beings which resist articulation, while also finding community in doing this.
