About the event
What stories live just beneath the surface of your thoughts?
What images, memories, or truths begin to emerge when we soften the mind’s grip on logic—and listen, instead, to the quiet beneath?
In this generative poetry workshop, we’ll begin and end with mindfulness—guided stillness to help us settle into the body and open the door to the subconscious. We will explore the poetic potential of dreams, intuition, memory, and silence.
Drawing on surrealist techniques, associative writing, and poetry that defies linear narrative, we’ll practice writing from the liminal space where thought dissolves and image begins.
Together, we’ll read poets like Frank O’Hara, Alejandra Pizarnik, Lucille Clifton, Ada Limón, and others who write from the intuitive, the dreamlike, and the deeply personal. Their work will guide us as we generate our own poems.
This workshop welcomes all levels. No prior experience with poetry or mindfulness is required—just a willingness to be…
